    Strategy Guide

    Rangers
Description - These twin Umbral Elf archers fill their foes with arrows from a distance.

Strategy Guide - Spawning two Rangers whose combined damage per second can destroy goblin units such as Goblins, Goblin Horde or even a distracted Goblin Bomber. These long-range archers attack both ground and air targets. However, due to their low health and tight-knit formation they can be susceptible to Splash Damage from Spells such as the Blast Spell, or units such as the Goblin Bomber or a deployed Kusk.

To counter the Rangers, a good tactic to use would be to use a tank unit such as the Corrupted Knight supported by a Goblin Bomber who can take them out from a distance while the Corrupted Knight keeps them busy. Alternatively, dropping a low-cost unit such as the Dwarves to distract them, followed by a higher cost/damage unit such as the Sharpshooter or Berserker.

    Strengths
    - Rangers can be placed behind some friendly tanks or towers to cause damage from a distance, especially effective against enemies such as the Goblin Flyers or Goblin Airforce.
    - Can be used to damage to enemy tank units such as the Ogre Brute, Berserker or Forest Dragon.
    - When properly supported, Rangers can make short work of most Goblin units.

    Weakness
    - Units with splash damage such as a well-positioned Forest Dragon, Goblin Bomber or Berserker. But they are also vulnerable to certain spells like the Spikes Spell or Blast Spell.
    - A Hero like Mason or Kusk can destroy or at least greatly damage your Rangers, so try to time placing them after the enemy uses their Deployed Hero.
    - Distracted Rangers can be eliminated with 2 tosses of dynamite from the Goblin Bomber. The Forest Dragon is also effective, although it takes longer.

  • #2
    • Summary:
-Rangers are medium speed, low health, units with average speed and low damage in a group, allowing for devastating long range damage.
    • -Their low cost and high damage is a great addition to nearly any formation. Their medium speed ensures that they will not break rank without engagement.
    • Use in a formation:
    • -Placed either right in front of, or behind high health units. Speed of protective units will dictate placement. Alpha Warg is a fast speed, high health unit that can switch from guarding the rear, to pouncing in the front.
    • Valkyries work exceptionally well.
    • -Dryads help keep flanking forces at range and move at the same speed in addition to their long range Vine and massive health pool.
    • -Form with Axe Throwers and a melee unit like Dwarves for three ranks of dps cheaply. Wargs make great reaction force. Add Goblins for aggro diversion and/or damage for a total cost of 10.
    A learners deck: 2.5 Elixir
-1st Rank Dwarves, 2nd Axe Throwers, 3rd, Rangers, 4th Sharpshooter. Wargs for front line reinforcement. Support with Spikes and Plague. Enhance with Frenzy or Regeneration.
*Might as well use Ember as a 5th rank.
    **I use The Crypt Lord.
***Take this deck and alter it to better serve your playstyle.
