    Strategy Guide

    Axe Thrower
Description - These two sturdy Dwarves throw axes from range and are protected by their shields. A deadly combo!

Strategy Guide – Axe Throwers are sturdy Dwarven Mini-Tanks that not only wield their mighty double-headed axes but also come sporting a protective shield, and if that wasn’t enough there’s two of them, what more could you want? Great for attacking both ground and air units and particularly effective against the Goblin Flyers or Goblin Airforce. Can be used to protect various low health troops from attack if deployed directly in front of the unit/s you wish to protect.

    Strengths
    - Axe Throwers are Dwarves that come packing protective Shields and ranged Battle Axes for ground and air attacks.
    - Axe Throwers are good allrounder units and very cheap, this makes them a good distraction tactic that also has the chance to cause some serious damage if left unchecked. Great for pairing with units like the Sharpshooter and Rangers/Hunting Party or as backup for tanks like the Ogre Brute or Juggernaut
    - Their shield acts almost like an extra life, first enemies will need to destroy their shields before getting to the Axe Thrower, this means that units like the Goblin Flyers/Goblin Airforce will often require two shots to kill Axe Throwers.
    - They can be used as a cheap defensive unit when you need to defend something quickly or alternatively, they can be used just to get the next card faster.

    Weakness
    - Their low health means that Axe Throwers are often used as cannon fodder to protect other more important troops. However, this is offset by their cheap cost.

    Summary:
-Axe throwers are medium speed, moderate health, low to moderate ranged damage units with a shield.

    Role in Formation:
    -Second rank ranged combat.
    -Second hand tank.
-Combine melee, short, and long range for multiple ranks of damage and support.

    Strength:
-Incredible interception force for a Warg Pack coming for your tower, although they do not stop them all together, Axe throwers prevent Charging damage and last long enough to thwart the advance.

    Spell Support:
-When used in conjunction with Spike Trap, higher level goblin flyers/GAF are quickly destroyed.

    Note:
-Shields are separate health pools, capable of wistanding MASSIVE damage, and save the troop.

-Although Axe Throwers are weak, they are a valuable force: capable of increasing the integrity of unit formations.

    A learners deck: 2.5 Elixir
-1st Rank Dwarves, 2nd Axe Throwers, 3rd, Rangers, 4th Sharpshooter. Wargs for front line reinforcement. Support with Spikes and Plague. Enhance with Frenzy or Regeneration.
*Might as well use Ember as a 5th rank.
    **I use The Crypt Lord.
***Take this deck and alter it to better serve your playstyle.
